In addition to facilitating peer recognition and providing a world forum for outstanding works of scholarship and art, the Academy endevours to provide monetary awards to worthy induviduals to assist them in the continuation of their work.

(Ukraine)

2003-2004 Peter Purdes (Slovakia)
The University of Toronto $5,000 CDN, Steven Chepa Fellowship In Rusyn Studies was awarded to JuDr. Peter Purdes, Faculty of Law, Safarik University, Kosice. Topic: Constitutional and Legal Status of the Rusyn Minority in Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, and Serbia after 1989.

2003 Mykolai Kseniak (Slovakia)
A Chepa Bear and Aleksander Dukhnovich Prize of $1,000 USA for Rusyn Literature donated by Steven Chepa was awarded to Mykolai Kseniak.

2002-2003 Boris Varga (Novi Sad, Serbia)
The University of Toronto $5,000 CDN, Steven Chepa Fellowship in Rusyn Studies was awarded to Boris Varga, Balkan correspondent BBC World. Topic: Rusyn and Serbian National Ideas in the Context of Civil War and Political Transformation 1989-2002.

2001-2002 Anna Pliskova (Slovakia)
The University of Toronto $5,000 CDN, Steven Chepa Fellowship in Rusyn Studies was awarded to Dr. Anna Pliskova, Instructor in Rusyn Language and Literature, Presov University. Topic: Word Formation in the Rusyn Language of Slovakia (Ph.D. dissertation).
